A sign of the aging process, maybe, but maybe also a&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;symbol of a mature form of detachment.  Rather than relish in the ill fate of some colleague,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;associate, sister or brother why not relish in the trangressions of a totaly fictitious charachter. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oldest trick since the beginning of time! But now it's better because I have cable and I can&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;recordthem and fast forward throughthe commerciALS!!  Which is deliciously gratifying&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;somehow.  My favorite soap is ABC 's One life to Live.  Their characters seem to be&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;therapeutically working the script and milking it for all it's worth.
